Little superstition I know of
Superstition is part of the heritage of almost any culture in the world. As an Asian living in Asia, I'll like to share a few of asian's interesting small superstition I know of, that were not printed on the typical cultural materials. As an active playful child, I was told not to sit or step on newspaper or I will grow up illiterate. When someone taps or knock their knuckles on your head, quickly knock below your chin upwards. Or else risk getting bad luck, become stupid or something. Avoid letting the doors in your home bang shut, either by tempers or gust of winds or else you'll drive away the good luck. It is extremely bad luck, to crawl or go through below someone with their legs apart. Or let someone hurdle over you. (cheerleaders do that all the time, don't they?) Don't point at the moon or you get a cut behind the crease of your ears. This happened to a friend from my teenage years because he didn't believe it! It happened to my brother when he was a small kid, too! Amazing. Do not do any renovation work, sewing, nailing etc in the house when someone also living in that house is pregnant! There were too many bad things happening to people, to not believe in this! Lastly, this article is just for fun, and please do not take it too seriously. =) |
